After successfully purchasing and binding the license to the shop, you need to configure the Stripe plugin. You can find all configuration options under: “Plugins > Installed plug-ins > Stripe.”
Settings #
API KEY’s #
The plugin communicates with Stripe via API. To enable this, you need to provide Secret and Publishable keys, which must be generated in your Stripe account first. For information on where to find these keys in your Stripe account, please refer to this link.
If you provide the Test mode API keys, the plugin will connect to a sandbox environment where you can test everything without making actual payments. For information on how to test payment methods on Stripe, visit here.
Enable Apple/Google payment methods

In the configuration window, you will find a checkbox to enable Apple Pay and Google Pay payment methods or other wallets available on Stripe. Simply check or uncheck this box according to your preferences. If enabled, these payment methods will be visible to customers who have set up their devices to use them; otherwise, they will not be visible. You can see all wallet buttons both in the second step and the final step of the checkout process. More about wallets on Stripe you can find here
To make the Apple Pay button visible, additional certification setup is required. You can find this in the “Apple Certificate” section.
Automatically refund payments. #
Remember to click “Save” to ensure that all configurations are saved and applied.
Apple Pay Certificate #
In this configuration tab you are able to upload generated Apple Pay certificate which is required if you would like to show Apple Pay button the checkout. Apple Pay certificate you need to generate on your Stripe account. Here are instructions how to do this:
- Go to your payment methods and Settings of Apple Pay, then click “Add new domain.”
- Enter the top-level domain or sub-domain where you will be implementing Apple Pay (e.g. stripe.com or shop.stripe.com).
- Click Add and continue.
- Download the verification file: this will be a text file titled apple-developer-merchantid-domain-association.
- Upload the verification file via the plugin configuration on your JTL-5 shop.
- Click “Upload” so certificate will be uploaded on your JTL-5 shop
Once this is completed, and if the “Apple / Google payment methods” checkbox is enabled, the Apple Pay button should be visible for customers whose devices are compatible with this payment method.
